EAST BAY FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHER | Let’s hang out on Happy People Lane

When this family contacted me to do a shoot in the East Bay, I had to leave the location up to Momma. You see, I have no idea where anything is there and had to use my GPS just to make it in one piece :)   She suggested downtown Lafayette- perfect.  I got there a few minutes early so I could scout out some places I thought would set the mood for our shoot that day.  I found some cute urban walls and textures and but that wasn’t enough for what I was looking for.  The sky was a gorgeous shade of blue and I could see huge green rolling hills in the distance.  I needed me some huge green rolling hills. I took off out of the little town and saw a sign for HAPPY PEOPLE LANE! Yes, Happy People Lane! And this street lived up to it’s name. It looked like a scene out of a movie, complete with trimmed hedges and white picket fences.  I passed happy people on bikes in front of houses with American flags waving.  Happy People Lane Indeed!

Here you can see downtown Lafayette and some of the interesting colors and textures it offered.  I found a display window with framed maps that I fell in love with. I am obsessed with maps!

I also wanted to mention an article my fellow photographer wrote on how to pick a good photographer.  It is a good read, and to top it off- she mentions me specifically in the article! Check it out: HOW TO PICK A GOOD PHOTOGRAPHER by: Amy Ro

Downtown. | sacramento family photographer

Nothing makes me happier than shooting family sessions,  I love seeing the connections and the different dynamic each family has.   The Golshani family is no exception and I have had the pleasure of photographing them before! They are a truly beautiful family inside and out and their love shines through and makes them so easy to photograph!

This family photo is one of my favorites!

Poyeh (the beautiful Momma!) and I had previously discussed what they would be wearing so we could compliement their clothing choices at the session.  That is how the awesome teal wall was chosen!  Art directing shoots has become one of my favorite parts of the process!

And of course, some pictures of Poyeh and Mehrab.  I think it’s so important to get pictures together without the kids!
