The Polar Express

Right before Christmas, we took the boys for a ride on The Polar Express.  You can imagine how excited Evan was when we told him we were taking that special train to the NORTH POLE!

We left as the sun was setting and you could just feel the excitement in the car, he knew it was a special night.

Here is the train before we got on.

Once on board, our tickets were punched!

As soon as the train was set in motion dancers filled the aisles singing and dancing, “Hot, hot, hot, hot chocolate!” We were also served cookies which was probably Evan’s favorite part of the night!

Cheers!

Next up was a group read of the story.

And of course, Santa paid a visit to all the children and passed out bells. Judging by the look on Evan’s face, he wasn’t so sure!

Hope everyone had a very merry holiday season!

Just had a wonderful night of family, Patron shots and crab cakes, and I am happy to announce the winners of my “Giving is Awesome” event. Out of all of the entries, I just couldn’t pick one, so I had to pick two winners.  The two winners were nominated by Jennie Skibo and Jessica Porter.  I’ll be contacting you guys soon with further instructions.

Thanks to everyone for sending me your nominations, I wish I could have chosen everyone! Have a wonderful holiday, and thanks for a great year.

Getting the Christmas Tree- ‘08!

Like many other families all across the world, we trudged out one Saturday morning to get our Christmas tree!  We had visions of driving up to Lake Tahoe this year to a Christmas Tree farm to get our tree, but it just didn’t happen this year.  So instead- we went to the same lot as last year to find the perfect tree!

And here is a comparison from LAST YEAR!  I put him in the same hat and sweater to see the difference! He has grown so much, and next year Grant will be running right along side him.  I can’t wait!

OK, back to this year! Evan was officially in change of finding the perfect tree.

Of course, there is always time for some Daddy “schnuggles”

And just to prove that, YES, I was there and so was Grant… a self portrait of the baby wearing momma that I am!

After we got home and brought the tree in, Evan and Grant pulled up a front row seat to see the tree going up and the lights being strung.

Evan got a special treat this year and got to have a small tree in his room.  He has LOVED it so far.  His daddy took a few pictures of him decorating it as well.

The big 4… months that is!

Little G turned 4 months old today, and I discovered that he can sit, and actually pretty well! He was sitting unassisted in a few minute stretches today, and if he started to lean he would correct himself most times and get back to center. I was so happy for him so now he can see the world in a new way!

Mr. Serious!

Evan popped in to try to make him laugh!

And some serious drool!

Some prints for the walls.

I have made it my goal for the next few weeks to actually get some of the photos I take, up on the walls!  I am a photographer with very VERY few photos on my walls.  In fact, I have lots of empty frames on the walls, how pathetic is that?!  Luckilly, that is slowly staring to change, I have put in multiple orders this week for prints.

These babies are scheduled to arrive today! I have 3 white frames ready for them to go in to hang in the dining room- can’t wait!
