I hated Times Square & other randomness

OK, so I didn’t HATE Times Square- but it was my least favorite part of Manhattan by far. The people watching was fun, and taking a detour a few streets over led to a fun excursion to see a psychic and have our palms read.  It certainly was an experience!

DUMBO and The Brooklyn Bridge

This lovely afternoon was spent in DUMBO (directly under the Manhattan Bridge overpass) enjoying the sunny 70 degree weather, eating burgers, shopping for chocolates, then walking back to Manhattan via the Brooklyn Bridge. Perfect.

let’s do something to help

Many of us have seen the tragic images and heard the heart wrenching stories of Haiti online and on the news.  We can do something to help ease these people’s suffering, we can do something to help.

I am teaming up with photographers around the country and joining the online movement called Helping Hearts started by an online photographer friend I have known for years, and together, we’re going to try to do something to help. But, we need you, too! Here’s the deal:

You and your sweetheart could win a romantic photo session at dusk in downtown Sacramento.

  • This session will be photographed by myself and will be held the evening of Friday, February 5th.
  • Session is for up to 2 adults and will last around an hour.
  • Winner will also receive 25 fully processed, high resolution images on CD. Print to your heart’s content!

How to win:

  • Make a MINIMUM donation of $10 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund.
  • Forward a copy of your receipt to nicolefieldsphotography@gmail.com.
  • All entries must be RECEIVED by midnight (Central time) on January 27th.
  • Winner will be drawn at random and announced on January 28th.
  • That gives you a week to shop and find a babysitter, if need be. ;-)
  • You can enter as many times as you’d like, and for every $10 you give, that’s one entry. So $50 would be putting your name in the pot 5 times.

Other details:

  • Session participants must sign a model release.
  • Session must be held in Sacramento on Feb. 5th.
  • If the winner does not claim his/her prize by Feb. 1st or cannot claim the prize, then another winner will be drawn.

But wait! There’s more!

If you are a photographer and would like to hold your own Helping Hearts event to help Haiti, please contact helping hearts ASAP so they can send you everything you need to get started!

And PLEASE blog, Tweet or share this link on Facebook! You can also follow Helping Hearts on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook.

And just to get you in the mood…

Thank you in advance for your donations.

Please look into your heart and give to the people of Haiti.

Thank you,

Nicole

Facebook is ruining my blog!

OK, I guess it is me that is ruining my blog! It’s so easy to upload to Facebook and forget about my dear old friend, the blog! I am trying to go through and share here the things that I have missed! Does that happen to anyone else, or am I the only one falling off the blog wagon? Argh!
